A digital computer can only understand binary codes
(digital data). The information that human understands must first be converted
into digital codes (i.e. combination of 1’s and 0’s) before it is fed to the
digital computer to process. The devices, which convert human readable data into
machine-readable form, are known as input device. Examples of such devices are:
Keyboard, mouse, joystick etc.
After processing a digital computer gives the
processed output in the digital form. These outputs are very hard for human
beings to comprehend. To convert these machine outputs into human readable form
output devices are used. Examples of such output devices are: monitor, printer
etc.
Types of Input Devices:
- Scanner
- Touch Screen
- Light pen
- Joystick
- Trackballs
- Mouse
- Keyboard
Types of Output Devices:
- Printers
- Plotter
- Monitor
- Speaker and many other.
