Three basic operations of computers are
INPUT - Accumulation of raw data and the sequential set of instruction is called input.
PROCESS - Process data based on instructions.
OUTPUT- Giving the result of processed input in meaningful information for the user.
- The Cycle of operation of a computer is referred as the Input-Process-Output cycle or the IPO cycle.
- Data and programs are entered into the computer system for processing through input devices.
- The data to be processed has to be converted into electrical quantities with the help of transducer.
- The input channel/Input Processor then converts electrical quantities into digital signals.
- Now data in digital form goes to the processor for processing under some set of instruction/programs.
- At last processed information is again converted into user understandable form by output channel/Output Processor and presented to user through output device.
